Responsible for creating the first patterns for garment production translating design concepts into wearable prototypes, ensuring that fit, construction, and design specifications are achieved accurately and efficiently. Work closely with designers, product developers, and sample makers to ensure the first sample reflects the design vision while maintaining functionality.
Position Overview: - Develop accurate first patterns based on designers' sketches, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Create flat patterns manually or using CAD software, ensuring all pattern pieces are clear, precise, and adhere to design and technical requirements.
- Work closely with the design and product development teams to ensure that all fit and construction details are accurately translated into the pattern.
- Conduct fittings and make pattern adjustments to ensure optimal fit and construction.
- Collaborate with sample makers to oversee the creation of garment prototypes.
- Ensure that patterns meet manufacturing requirements, including grading (size scaling) and marking for fabric cutting.
- Maintain clear documentation of pattern measurements, adjustments, and fabric requirements.
- Troubleshoot any issues related to pattern design or fit, and offer technical solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, pattern-making software, and techniques.
Pay is based on multiple factors, such as qualifications/skills/experience, geography, and state and local wage laws. In addition, bonus and/or commission and benefits including healthcare, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and product discounts may be offered.
Range for the position is $29.12 - $48.52
